1993 ATX 3.2L SHO (Tranny rebuilt by AAMCO 25,000 miles ago) 2nd one!

Anyone ever have this happen in their SHO? This has happened twice to me within the past week or so. Tranny fluid level after I checked it out was fine. It may be a coincidence, but this problem started right after my battery died and I replaced it with a new one. The same day actually :oogle:

1st incident - Taking a right turn from a stop sign, and when I gave it gas the car went into neutral. then engine whined up, and then it went back into drive mode again. Me and my wife suspected the shift lever was not fully placed in drive & dismissed it.

2nd incident - Jumping onto a highway onramp yesterday. Turned onto the ramp at 30mph, and when I gave it juice to downshift and accelerate the car went into neutral for a second, the engine whined up, and then it went back to drive.

Ok, I pulled some codes this morning and got....

327 - DPFE sesor below minimum voltage

452 - Insufficient input from vehicle speed sensor (VSS).

* Common sense tells me 99% chance this is my problem, but I have questions!

1.) Can I get to this part myself & replace it without removing tranny?

2.) If I can, will it be a ballbuster job? :banghd:

You can buy one...(I would get a Ford unit)... It is a major PITA, you have to drop the Y-pipe and with that it is still a pain...
