I was wondering if anyone else out there has had to replace the side cover on the their transmission. I am going to be having to replace mine because it is severely corroded. If so is there any tips?

Also another random question. I am looking in to getting a Rose mist 96 SHO. I want to get it for my girlfriend for her birthday. I was wondering if anyone had the exact amount of them built? I have checked v8sho.com as well.

201 RM produced from what I've heard.

The valve body cover can be sanded and repainted. There is no need to replace it. I have pulled it off to service the valve body more than once, and it takes me about 3.5 hours to R&R a valve body in my driveway with hand tools.

Rose mist are few and far between. An accurate count was about 200 produced in 1996 for this color. The other color that is rare and only produced in 1996 is medium graphite. I have one:thumb:

Medium Graphite is the best.

Ray on eBay has a side cover for you if it's severly corroded.

Unless it's rotted through. I've seen a few of them that are completely rotted through and leaking. So, if you get another one, paint it to keep it from rotting so much :) And it is a little labor intensive job if you have never done anything like it before. It requires lowering the subframe a touch and taking the mount off, but it can be done.:thumb:
