I remember reading a thread a while back that I can't find any more, about swaping the mtx without compleatly dropping the subframe. Just how is this done? Can it be done? I have changed a few mtx trans before but only with compleatly dropping the subframe. I am doing mine this weakend by myself(at my shop with a hoist) and the subframe will be to heavy for me to lift onto the jack all by my lonesome.

Need to remove....
-both driver side subframe bolts.
-front passenger side subframe bolt
-both steering rack bolts
-both motor mount bolts
-and everything else related to a drop.. i.e suspension.

I think that covers it...
Thats the way i always used to do it... Its a tight fit for the most part, and you will probably need another person there to help.
Upon reinstall, its easier to go from the front, with the bellhousing facing the fire wall.. from there its just a matter of wiggling it in.

you can kinda make out the subframe in the backround.

the subframe by itself isnt too heavy and hard to move, i did my 3.2 atx to mtx swap by myself, and moved the subframe bolted it up and all by myself..
anything is possible and do able if you got the time money tools etc.
