Ok here goes, i notice this in the more cooler weather but the car is heated up. If i take first gear to like 6-7k then shift into second gear, its like it goes right in gear however when i let off the clutch, there is a hesitation of the clutch grabbing, its weird. Sometimes i do chirp second, then other times it does that hesitation, clutch is 22k old. HI REVS JR from shoshop. Is it tranny or clutch problem? only happens when i wind first gear out and shift into second fast.

If the car is shifting fine into 2nd gear, and you are getting some "slip" when you engage the clutch (letting the pedal out) then the clutch is slipping.

Another possibility is the TOB is hung on the sleeve, and the sleeve is riding with the TOB, and "hanging up" when you engage, causing the fingers to no quickly let out. This is pretty rare, but I've seen it happen, but usually the sleeve will dig into the fingers when you release the clutch, and make nasty sounds.

Hey Mark, Its weird, sometimes i can chirp second. But for some reason this clutch never really grabbed like i thought it shouldve. I think its like 200 lbs more clamping force than the stock unit. Its definitely not grabbing fast enough if i start speed shifting, all other gears are fine except second, and sometimes, if i wind out first to like 6800 and shift into second, it kinda gets stuck going to second. I never really beat on the car though that much(really i dont). The clutch isnt old really. Sometimes, if i try to shift delicately out of first to second, when i let the clutch out, the car jerks forward, but the clutch isnt all the way out. Its weird, it only happens on occasion.
