I have a broken trnny in my 97 and plan on fixing it soon. I was just thinking about putting the trans-go shift kit in it. Does it work? what does It do? How much? Where do I get it?

The trans go kit improves lubrication and replaces some cheap aluminum parts with steel. Worth the money.

If you are going to take the tranny out get the TC rebuilt as most of the fins are just a crimp fit. www.bulkparts.com will get it rebuilt for $250 or so. It is also a good idea to put an extra clutch and steel in the 1,2 and 3 gears. This will improve the shift time and distribute the load better.

You'll feel a slight inprovement in the 1-2 shift. Really it is as Paul said, help prolong the life of the new transmission. Also think about getting a support bearing (e-mail Kirk for more info) I just had a Ford rebuilt tranny put in with a shift kit and I can only feel a slight improvement on the 1-2 shift, but even though you don't feel it much, it is well worth the money.
