Hey all!
I just picked up my SHO a couple months ago. I've done a 3Bar, 160°TS, colder plugs, VTA BOV, and tunes from Unleashed.
Anyway, I was going to go run my car at the local strip today (RMR) but last night, I was practicing launching it so I wasn't wasting time up there.
Anyhow, I got a few hard pulls, but then my car got stuck in a high gear. 3rd or 4th maybe. It was hard (sluggish) to accelerate from a stop, and putting it in Manual Shift did nothing at all. Wouldn't even tell me the current gear.
Then, I got a check engine light. I read it with my SCT X4, and it came back as Shift Solenoid A stuck open.
I restarted my car, and it is seeming to drive normally... Has anyone heard of this?
Can I replace that solenoid, or is it internally mounted in the transaxle?

Thanks in advance!
/Quinn

Nope... the problem is more serious.
I just got in to see what it was doing today, and now I don't have reverse. Reverse acts like park. Neutral is now a forward driving gear, and Drive still sticks in high gears. The CEL is off though.

Take out the tune, return it to stock tune, remove all the mods you have added and see if that alone does anything. Next step is to take it somewhere to get it diagnosed.

What year is uour SHO?Did you verify the SHOs fluids situation? If you bought it used, maintenance should be first priority. Trans/PTU/RDU all suspect. Plan on R&r'ing all of them. Also have axles checked to verify proper operation. The code for stuck solenoid may be resolved with new fluid, so hang in there.

I wish it were so simple.
My tranny was 3 QTS low. I sucked air into the lines, couldn't lock the clutches, and welded damn near all of them. My whole trans is toast.

Here's the kicker; the dealership I bought it from just barely did a trans flush. 3 QTS is the exact amount needed to fill after draining (provided that you don't drop the pan.)
There are no leaks, and there is no ATF in the coolant. The only other possibility is that it went into the intake, but it's dry as a bone.
The trans has acted a little odd since I bought it, with random slipping and sticking in gears. I contacted them 3 different times, and they assured me that it was normal...

So.

I have the car up at the dealership that sold it right now.
I put 1,500 miles on it, so I'm sure they'll tell me to get bent.

I'm pretty sad right now.

Should be able to make a case that it's not your fault. Call Customer Service and escalate this up the chain if need be. Keep all documentation you have.

Would be pretty sad if a dealership can't even do a trans flush! I know monkeys could do it lickety split!
