My 96 sho has had a shudder problem that has had me very confused. When driving at a steady normal speed the transmission shifts great until it gets ready to drop into forth then it begins to shudder and then stops when forth engages. If you let off the gas right before it begins shudder it drops right into forth with no problem. Also if driving with more throttle it will drop into forth with no problem. But driving at a steady normal speed it always shudders at the same time. If you unhook the battery long enough for it to drain the memory and drive it around it will shift great all the time and the shudder is gone but it will eventually come back. I'm not sure if a sensor is going bad or what but the transmission has been taken care of and will be flushed soon. Anyone have an idea?

Maybe a bad TC. It is locked in third before it unlocks and shifts to fourth. That may be the shudder.

Thats what i was thinking. It is the original transmission and most dont make it this far but when the memory is drained it shifts perfect. A tune changes shift points i believe do you think a tune would get rid of the shudder? I also do plan on flushing it soon and filling it will Mercon V and a bottle of Lucas

Well I guess all I can do is get some clean fluid in it and see how it does. I have also noticed feeling the shudder while driving at a constant speed around 60 with cruise on. When it shudders it lightly shakes the car and it feels like tires need balancing but when I turn O/D off it rides really smooth. It doesn't shudder the whole time its on cruise, it comes and goes.

Could this also be a failing coil? Its did this for probably 4 months now. The only thing that leads me to believe this is that it runs perfect for a little while after unhooking the battery and draining the memory.
