How hard is it?
How much are they?
Will the quik **** shop install it when I get a tranny flush?
If so, how much extra will it cost to have it installed?

Not to pick on you specifically, but I've heard enough horror stories regarding 'quick ****' places that I wouldn't trust them to do anything to my car, let alone install something like a tranny cooler.

If you're reasonably mechanically inclined, why not do it yourself? It's not really all that hard provided you have some screwdrivers, a socket wrench set, and a few hose clamps.

For me, I spent about $50 on a heavy-duty tranny cooler from Pep Boys and $3 for a brass barbed hose coupling. The tranny cooler I bought had the hose couplings and some extra hose already, and installation took about 3 hours. The items you'd have to remove is the protective cowl under the engine to gain acccess to the existing transmission cooler lines, and the radiator fan shroud to run the straps through the radiator fins to secure your transmission cooler.

is there a write up or something somewhere? Wouldn't mind giving it a try, but a NOVICE needs LOTS of help, input, advice, pictures, and write ups :D

Disconnect the OEM cooler on the drives side.

Hang you cooler they way you feel is best. I have hung mine with zip ties from the bumper support with no problems but currently lay it horizontal over the bottom gill slits on the black splash shield.

Connect the new cooler's lower connector to the line you disconnected and the upper connector connect with a hose back to the OEM cooler.

This is also the place you want to disconnect when you flush. You can get a Magnafine in-line filter to use as a union for the two hoses.

I bet I edited this message 10 times but have finally figured out why some of the SuperFord pics don't post. If there are spaces in the file name they can be posted to SuperFord but they will not show up on SHO forum when linked. shrug
