Ok, here is my thinking. My car seems to have a dead-spot in the throttle right off idle. Works fine a WOT, I tested that yesterday! :D Mostly noticable when cold. I am guessing that my original TPS is starting to crap out on me and I plan to replace it next time I get paid (i hate living payday to payday but what can you do? shrug ). Does this sound like a resonable deduction from my "problem"?

Have you cleaned or replaced the IAB? That may cause a "dead spot" or hesitation off idle.

I'd also search the SHOTIMES FAQ or this forum for instructions on how to test the TPS and the acual circuit going to it. It is simple enough if you have a voltmeter and a half hour It might even save you a couple bucks!?!

I hear you on the paycheck to paycheck part too! Gotta love those student loans!

Hope that helps a bit.

You might try cleaning the MAF sensor. They get dirty/coated and don't give a good reading at low air volumes. They are quite delicate. Where in Ohio?

I've in Athens during the school year and Cincy during summer. I am originally from Toledo and still have family there.

I've tested the TPS and really didn't see any dead spots. I also 'adjusted' it so it was closer to 1V. I replaced the IAB last summer. What should I use to clean my MAF? I've read that some people have used carb cleaner...

Tip for cleaning the MAF:

DON't use a q-tip as some people will recommend, I think it's too easy to break something! I used a liberal amount of carb\intake cleaner but I've heard brake cleaner woks too.

Spray her down and let it dry.

Good luck!
