I am looking to replace my struts and springs this spring..I want a firm ride that is not overly harsh.am looking at sfb (not sure what typr yet), and possibly sfc. The spring/strut set ups I have read about all appear to be max handling units as i want something more for the highway warp speed with off ramps and clover leafs, and all season..any ideas??

See my post/replies below (Jan 04). OttoSHO also asks similar question on suspension problems subforum. The unfortunate solution? We’re gonna have to find someone with a SHO who has a good setup (Tokico or Koni w/Eibach) and decide if it’ll suit our needs. A decent drive on the streets of any city in the Midwest should settle the issue. I’m convinced the springs have more to do with potential ride harshness than do shocks; by this I mean an excessively stiff spring rate will pound you, while stock springs in good condition with high-quality shocks will yield a very pliable ride. It’s entirely possible we need new Sachs shocks with Moog replacement springs (esp. on rear) with ratings only slightly stiffer than advertised stock (SLO!). Bookmark this, and ask me again in six months .

I have the tokico/eibach setup and am very happy with it. Not too stiff, but seems to settle down nicely at higher speeds.

my suspension isn't what I would deem ******** but I can certainly corner hard.

1, SHO shop 3" lowering springs. Constant rate and hard as ****. No longer availabel but the INTRAX springs are a distant second choice.

2, FACTORY monro struts. the rears ride great and still handle well. The fronts are a little softer than I would like though.

3, all new rear sway bar links and urethane bushings.

4, 17" rims and tires.

5, new bearing plates and strut mounts.

One day in the summer if I see you at your buddies, I will take you out for a rip and see if you like the ride.

I will be intalling subframe connecttors this summer sometime but I need to address the exhaust first.
