Thank you for posting this SBS. I hope this does finally put this to bed.

Those welds are such trash. I could do better and I don't even weld.

Here is the junk SSM sends you. Welds are trash, mounts are not straight, and if you look closely....they are twisted....

Wonder if that Hybrid mount is just at soft as the junk SBS just showed you.

Either they can't cut or weld straight, or they got the welds so hot.....

Also I have an issue mating a square tube with a cylinder mount...but that is just me.

I don't understand - you bought the mounts with the softer bushings for less NVH and now you're complaining about the bushings being soft? Didn't you get what you asked for?

Which bushings did you get - 4th gen or hybrid? (They don't list an "NVH" mount.)

I had too much NVH with the AD mounts, so I put the front stocker back on. Works well for me.

He is comparing the junk SSM mounts he bought. They market them like they are the best thing you can buy for the car. They clear up the NVH, but after awhile they developed the wheel hop again.

I truly don't understand how ppl complain about NVH. Raise your rpm by 100 at idle and in gear idle. That clears up a lot of the problem. My AD Gen2 mounts have a couple of thousand miles on them, and I don't even notice them anymore. I dont drive my SHO more then a couple times of week either, so you would think I would because I am not in the car everyday. I do notice the in cabin sound, and how they perform on launch and shifts. They are amazing.

I didn’t make it clear in the video....

They are the hybrid mounts. De140ee96c5c00620864c6c404964a2d

I spoke directly with the owner, they told me the hybrid mounts offer the same level of performance as their race bushing but for the street. I specifically asked about wheel hop and was told that their new setup eliminated wheel hop while resolving the NVH issue.

I talked through the build I had and asked would these work as I didn’t want to throw money away? The owner said they had been tested on high HP cars and that all police units out his way were switching to them...

That’s my gripe.

I was really hoping they were a good solution, soft enough to deaden the NVH a bit but stiff enough to stop wheel hop...

Unfortunately they did not do what they were advertised to do.

SBS, this is not a shot a you at all. Thank you for posting this info.

However, if the owner would have told me that, I would have said, "Thank you and have a great day." That comment is clearly complete B.S. How can your hybrid street mount, be just as good as your race mount? Why would you even offer a "race" mount then? It makes zero sense.

Every car is different. Every person is different. My NVH is at rpms higher than idle. At times I had a loud buzz within the dash board.

It's also possible the conditions of the motor mounts has something to do with it. I suspect I may have a bad/collapsed mount, but it's not easy to tell be looking at it. I do know the smallest bumps in the road produce a loud thud. I've gone over the suspension and it's tight. I suspect these firm struts amplify a bad motor mount (or just about anything else). Might be part of others NVH complaints.

I understand that, if you have a bad engine mount. That would be make sense then.

I had a thud in my ST for the first 8 months I owned it. It drove me insane. I went though all the suspension and could not find anything. One day I started it, and it made the thud. I instantly knew engine mount. Sure enough, top engine mount was junk. Replaced it and it replaced my sanity. LOL.

All I know is, I was shocked when SBS shoved that flathead in, gave it minimal torque/compression, the whole damn thing just fell apart.

Yikes!

No thank you.

Pretty clear to me and I to am glad I purchased the AD mounts in retrospect.

Nice review there SBS.

Thanks. That makes sense. They should list there bushing in order of stiffness. I would guess they are supposed to be somewhere between race and street from their description. If so, those do look very soft for a "hybrid".
