on my 93 MTX i was checking the oil at a gas station and i saw that something was loose on the accessory side of the engine, left if you are standing in front of it. the pice looks like a little gas shock, it looks like the bolt either snaped or just came out of the threads in the bracket side, is this something that shouldnt be driven with this off i dont have any of my tools that are good enough to fix this bolt until i get home. and should i replace the whole unit if it is already halfway off or do these wear out.

sorry for the long post about such a most likely small issue but i dont like things hanging on the inside of my engine.

thanks for the help

Little gas shock thingy is your torque limiter. If you have stock motor mounts, you want these hooked up. You should feel some resistaqnce when you move the piston in and out. If it moves real easy, it's shot. Find a nut, and reinstall that bad boy. The Yamaha shure likes to rip outta the engine compartment with stock mounts.
