Does anyone know about these little devices that claim to increase HP and save on fuel upto 28%

They also claim to gain upto 20 HP???

I know there are several of those Air/Temp mod kits on E-Bay that are nothing more than a $.11 resistor from Radio Shack.

This device that I saw on TV actually looks like it may do more. I talked to some guys at work (about 3 of them) and they seem to think that this is a good idea and would make a difference. Non of them have SHO's. One guy has a sprint car and I believe has a form of this Tornado Fuel Save device. They were saying that instead of the air entering the intake and flowing down one side of the tube this Tornado device would break up the air and make it flow more fully through the intake tube into the TB. They've got them for the SHO's (at least a 98) and the price would be in the $80.00 ballpark with s/h.

What do you guys think?

Here's the link to check it out.

Thanks for the help.

We had a thread on this a year or so ago on the V8SHO.com email list.

Someone even did a test IIRC.

It was a waste of money...just what I recall though.

I did the test on a 91 SHO. It also took a couple of months to get my refund. I never even bothered to get to the dyno as intended, as the results on the street were pitiful.

Do a search on my old screen name, fredhurderjr.

Think about this. How does making the air swirl around do anything for power? I don't see it happening. Also the only way I can see it saving you fuel is blocking airflow and by the looks of it, it blocks up to 28% of air so yeah, 28% fuel savings :D

You can always go the eram way, and stuff an 80mm computer fan on the MAF and power it thumbs_u

Well, I've got to be honest now. I have already bought one and Dyno'd without it at 218 to the wheels and with it I dyno'd at 237 at the wheel. SOOOO, I got a 19 HP gain (I think it's 19). But if you guys say it's crap then I'll return it. :(

By the way, I'm kidding!! thumbs_u

I don't have the money to buy one anyway.
So, you just saved me about $80.00 that I don't have. thumbs_u

Thanks, but my wife thanks you more.
