I'm not running a tune. Just a regular old X2J.
It's 94 Octane. I didn't spike my tank with Turbo Blue. It was 1/2 full of straight hi-test Sunoco 94 when I left and I barely made it back to that same station to top it off with another 17.5 gallons of the good stuff.
The temperature was dropping from a high of about 53.
There was a tail wind.
I have a y-pipe
I mashed it
Those are the tangible truths. Here are some INTANGIBLE truths.
In the course of six 1/4 mile runs (in my whole lifetime), I was able to get an arguably difficult 1/4 miler into the 14s. Two more runs and I was WELL INTO the 14s.
Then the car sat for 2 hours, cooling dow...no....Brooding. And the SRT4 rolls up. With it's loud exhaust and it's turbo. I could tell...my car was doing one of these...
But I wasn't about to pick a fight it couldn't win. We got ourselves well into the 14s and I considered my day complete. Then...with about 20 minutes left before the track shuts down...I hear Mr. SRT4 (Matt) toss down the gauntlet. I told Fancy (I call her "Fancy Taurus") that this was her "One chance, don't let me down".
She just did one of these

and said "Put your helmet on...Major Tom"
The rest is on the F##%ing timeslip.
