Took the beast out to the drags at Infineon. Cool night, but 20-30mph headwind all night kept things slow. Stock cars were all running quite a bit slower than normal -- C5 vettes in the high 13/low 14s, Evos running high 14s @ 92mph, a SN95 stang with a newer motor ('03+ heads), hot cam, headers, etc. (claimed the dyno showed 295 at the rear wheels) running ~14.1, etc. I felt like the car did pretty well, but there's still room on the launch and I need to replace the clutch since hard shifts = clutch slippage for 1-2 seconds. Fine for road courses, but not so good for drag racing. Anyway, I'm car #141; a fellow BaySho owner is driving a gen1 (stock + Ypipe, basically) in the other lane. His best trap of the night was 89.something. Another guy with a gen 2, 3.2L, chip, Y-pipe, and mufflers trapped 93.something. The ATX G2 and G3 cars were all 85-87mph as well; it's a pretty slow track.
To think that I got a 96.3 at Sac Raceway on a great day (no wind, cool temps) with my old 3L motor and Y-pipe/exhaust mods only.
Anyway, this was my best run of the night (last run... car gained 0.125s over the previous run, which was 0.35 better than the run before, which was 0.35 better than the run before ... I had some pretty bad runs).
I'd love to run at Sac Raceway, but would need to put the battery back to stock, which is more work than it's worth (I've got a 3-digit trap speed now so I'm set

).
