Let's see what you all think about this. The top speed of our rides is 133 (artificially limited). I read about someone somewhere that got a SHO up to 168 on the German Audobahn.

That got me thinking. At a highway speed of 75, I'm doing 2000 rpm in 6th. So if the redline is 6500 (as marked on the stock gauge), shouldn't the highest theoretical speed be (6.5/2)*75 = 243.75 mph?

...assuming one had appropriate tires, helmet, roll cage, and... diapers. Lol. Theoretically.

243 shit, like to see how the brakes hold up stopping from that speed lol my guess would be 160-180. im guessing theres a weak link somewhere regarding top speed.

There are 2 different final gear ratios (regular and PP), so you will have 2 theoretical top speeds for SHOs.
This is one place where the regular SHO wins out.
Your arithmetic seems correct.
You could do it the hard way as well, using theoretical max RPM, final gear ratio, and tire circumference. Then you could mess around with taller tires etc....... to get some realy big, unobtainable numbers.

I've had my 2010 over 160. Was still accelerating at that point, but why do you need to go faster in an all wheel drive Taurus anyways? haha
