I have seen 130 MPH in mine and it was still going, ran out of road and nut. I saw 140 MPH in my green Gen 2.

I've bounced off the limiter at 144mph many times. I think with enough road and no limiter, 150mph is attainable.

with my old 1992, i hit 5900 RPM in 5th.... in my 97 i have touched 135. my Cop car (the Crown Vic) i have been WAY past 140.

The sho will beat the Vic to 100, but after that the Vic pull ahead like a freight train on full tilt....

Somehow I highly doubt that. What advantage does the CV have at speeds above 100?

well all the mods that i have done to the crown are for upper RPM breathing. torque isnt as important up there. I know my Cop Car is making more horse than my SHO. and they have very simular drag co-efficients. just because the SHO pulls to 7 grand means nothing if the power isnt there to back it up. my Vic shifts out at 5k in to 2nd and 3rd gear and into 4th at 4800. when the RPM drops i am at the tq peak, then i am at the HP peak when it shifts. but i have about 400+ lbs to deal with. so off the line it is a pooch, but a 4.6 stang has a damn hard time pulling away from me past 100. I you have never had a ride in a hopped up CVPI then you have no idea what i am talking about. as it stands my Vic runs LOW LOW 15's in the quarter. and i know the sho isnt that fast with all i have done to it. I just know my cars, and when i had a buddy run the Vic, he caught up with me at about 105. and passed me at 110 and kept pulling til i got out of it at 135. the vic will pull (read: still holds you in the seat) after 120. the SHO does not. Am i saying the Vic is a better car, NO but for what i do with it is does it's job well. is the SHO a better Car? no, but like i said, it does it;s job well.

well for just having mufflers, and an open intake on the sho.
that doesnt say alot for your CV...

get some more mods under the sho, then see who pulls..

SHO drag coefficient is .30, Crown Vic is .34

Although I can't imagine how much it is screwed up by having the front of a car lowered and the rear of the car jacked up. :bonk:

And the frontal area of the SHO is smaller than the CV, so the difference in total drag is even more substantial.

I haven't done a top end run since I got my xc2 (no limiter, i think), but with some light modding I felt a significant "bounce" off the 144mph governer. by bounce i mean it probably had another ~10mph, or so it felt

i never said the sho dosnt have the potential to be faster, but in it's current state...it is not. give me the same time i had with the Vic, and i know it will be faster, but then again i want to make the Vic faster yet. But there going to go down 2 different paths. the Vic is getting stripped and will be doing scca racing...yes you heard me right... and the sho is going to be the everyday car. I am building a new motor for the vic this winter anyway (stroked 4.6 based on a explorer aluminium block w/ Ported and polished PI heads and VT stageII cams)

what do you mean? PI stuff? PI that i am using means "performance improved" not "Police Interceptor". I amusing a CVPI because of heavy duty suspension, Cooling and lack of crap that i didnt want in the first place. My first love is with my Vic, the SHO is secondary.....

Anymore questions, call me....419-889-8724

I really like that tach!!!!! PERSONALLY I REALLY LIKE THE NEW cvpi those cars look mean AND i really like the crown victoria sport edition with the floorshifter i wish i can get a hold of One. police interceptors are suppose to be fast lets not compair a cvpi with a sho a sho is great against aurora's and bmw but when it comes to a vic a police interceptor vic then we might have problems!!!!

By the way just for the record i love SHO's!

I have hit 140ish in my 99 it rode smooth as glass i bounced it once off the limiter and it took forever to get back down. i have also been 186 on the FL turnpike in a 911 GT2 it was unreal and it only took about 25 secs to get it up there to
