Got into the SHO yesterday.
1.Are they suppossed to be loud?
2.The spark plugs need to be replaced. Is there any way to do this easily?
3. It has a cable shifter. Is the stick suppossed to sway back and forth, as though it were in nuetral, when it is in gear?
4. and this is going to sound stupid, but how does that factory body kit fit back on? It's falling off, I'll post some pictures.
5.And does anyone know if anyone sells a straight-pipe true-duals kit for an '89?
Thanks!

1)Not really in stock form, even when your on it they arent too loud. They do scream up top though.

2)Remove the intake to reach the back plugs, it isnt too too hard. You will prolly have oil in your plug wells, so dont be suprised.

3)If you dont like it get a rod shifter. You WILL love the rod shifter.

4)Need pix

5)If you want 10 whp get a ypipe with high flow catz.

Hope this helps and i hope you have great times in your sho. thumb

1. when you say "loud" what are you reffering to? the exhaust or the engine itself? I took teh silencer cone out of mine and its pretty loud when I mash the gas.

2. Front ones you can prolly get out and replace pretty easily, the rear ones are a little trickier, I can't remember if I had to remove the intake or not to get to them. I know with the hood off you can change them without messing with the intake manifold. Just get the right size extension.

3. Pretty sure mine wiggles a little. But I have had to fix so much stuff on my car I wouldn't be surprised if that was broke too.

Hope this helps a little.

with hood on and intake attached, i can change the rear bank plugs with ease. 5/8" plug socket, 10" long 3/8" drive extension, and 3/8" rachet. only thing needed to be removed is the secondary vacuum accumulator. easiest if done from the passenger side.

I agree with Dale. Gen I's you're able to do this, you can on Gen II's also if you remove the cover on the firewall. I changed my plugs in about 10 minutes last week using the same method Dale uesed.

word of advice , to change the rear plugs 2 & 3 unplug the corresponding wires from the coil pack and give slack to the boots. on my gen 1 i lost the bottom plug seal from trying to pull the boot out without the slack and ensded up sitting in my engine bay for 2 hours trying to literally fish it out, but a 2 1/2 in. drywall screw got it out.

If you decide to take the intake off to change the plugs, the instructions are on my site. Not hard at all. thumb

1.Yep, There's a lot of oil in the plug wells. I believe this is a valve cover gasket, because there is quite a bit.
2.It is the exhaust that is loud. I think there's something dead in there eek!
3.What's a secondary vaccum accumulator?
4. Yes, Tony, I'm in Lake Villa.

Actually, I had the body in mind. I'm out to prove that good help is indeed cheap, when it needs to be. My left rockers are completley rusted out. Also, it needs its shifter cables to be replaced; maybe it can be fixed?
The problem is that the right cable has a green grommett on the knuckle under the car. Did this come with the cable? Can the cable be rigged to work? I'm hoping to get you guys some pictures. The plugs are the least of my worries oh Maybe does anyone know a good body man? thumb I'd also like to get these cables fixed headbang
