So Rick, how do you feel about this? :D
No clue as to a time.If you were around the SHO`s about 3-4 years ago,the front struts were on backorder for over a full year. The word is that they ran a big production because there was a large demand due to the rears still being available.Supposedly, oncew that batch runs out, they`re not making any more.It does make sense, how many 89-95 Taurus struts can they even be selling anymore.

bradman, how soon are you supposed to receive your goodies?
They didn't tell me when they are going to ship, but I got the impression that they didn't have them in stock and would have to order them. You don't exactly get a wealth of information from Power Garage. Short replies, no details. I emailed them for status tonight. I'll let you know if I find out anything.

Fwiw, the word is that Tokico is not making our struts anymore.Once the last run was done, they`re all over with.I`d suggest getting them while you can.
Well I got mine or should I say Josh has them sitting at his house.
What are they going to do about warranty issues?

umm how can u stop production on a lifetime warrantied item? im guessing they will reimburse you for new struts?
They probably have a few stashed away and if those go then they would probably remanufacture your failed unit. They've been in the business long enough to be able to predict the failure rate and figure out how many parts to keep on the shelf for warranty replacements IMHO.

That's pretty optimistic Rick. I wonder if anyone is still around who had a failure when they were out of production? That would give an accurate picture of how it will be handled.

Yeah, it is an optimisitic outlook. But that would be the way to do it right. I would hope a reputable company like Tokico would be there for the long haul for a customer to make right by that lifetime warranty. shrug

Even if they are lifetime warrantied, and they fail, how are they going to replace them if they are out of production?

I suppose a refund would be the only recourse?

A rebuild would be nice. The problem I would worry about is one going out and getting a prorated refund and a wave bye-bye.
That's just talking out my rear though. The struts 'should' last longer than most of us will be driving these aging sedans.

UPDATE:
In case anyone is wondering about how my deal with Power Garage worked out. I got my Tokicos and Eibachs today via UPS. Everything looks great. I am very pleased with my purchase. Unless there is a problem with the quality or performance after installation, I can't imagine what would change my mind.
For those who have tried to contact PG, I don't know what the problem is, but I will try to find out.

Awhile back I spoke with Tokico about the issue. They told me that they would honor the warranty with replacement cartridges, but that they may not be providing complete units for sale any longer. This was months ago.

I think I emailed them 3 times after I heard you placed your order and haven't heard back from them yet. I don't know what their deal is. Did they leave a number on the receipt?

Edit: I just sent another email out around 8AM this morning. I'll let you know if I get a response.

I emailed Power Garage to ask why they had not been returning emails of other SHO owners that have been contacting them. They replied to say that Tokico was backordering the SHO struts. That was it. No other info.

Really???That sucks, so does this mean that we can no longer get the struts? I was wondering since I had e-mailed them also and had not heard from them yet. I still have to buy my rear tokicos, because I got a good deal on 2 unused fronts!

Today, Power Garage finally emailed me back only to tell me they don't carry the Tokicos for my car anymore. bs Odd because Bradman just received a set and everyone else seems to sell them. shrug

I've also mailed them. I'm in need of suspension to replace my ancient stock suspension. Let's see if we can't squeeze 'em out of those guys!

I got a very quick reply, actually. Same as everyone else has said. They illiterately replied to the effect of "We don't carry them anymore." finger I'm disappointed! Now I'll have to just spend double on the Tokicos. *snap*
