What is recommended in the community here for UHP A/S Tires? I've seen some people use DSW 06's and as well as GY Eagles. My current tires are still good so not in a rush or anything, I'm actually being pushed (a little by the boss) to replace them due to way too much spinning on launch. I don't really want to get a set for summer and one for winter, space could be an issue for that.

I went wider wheel and tire and am running GMAX AS-05. Love them. To the point I put them on wife's Miata and now our rarely driven 95 mustang. Wife lives them on her Miata too. Just a great all around tire in dry and wet. Not sure how they do in snow, it is not much concern here.

Conti's DWS06 all day.

This is the way I'm leaning, looking at 275/45r19 or they said they can special order 285/45r19 but they would be a month out or so if i wanted the extra width.

For UHP all season, I found Toyo Proxes 4 plus to be a great tire for my Mustang. I ran a 295/30/20 and found them to hook up better than some actually summer tires, Pirelli p zero. Thought those were some of the worst tires I’ve ever had the chance of running.

Now I moved on to Toyo r888 but those aren’t recommended for anything but warm/hot weather.

Just fyi - 275/285 will not fit on stock wheels, you need min 9/9.5" wide for 275. Not sure 285 will fit on all 4 corners either. Does for some, not for others. Just be aware before you drop$ to order in and get something that does not fit.

Oh I don't have stock wheels, I should be ok, they are 19x9.5 so I should have no issues with fit.

Man, should have gone 20's!!
285 may rub in places. I will tell you the 275s I have, have more grip than I can use on the street. I have not been able to break them loose from a dig or panic braking, it is pretty amazing. I push my car cornering and do not lack for grip there either. Unless you are going to track days often a 275 is plenty of tire imho. 9a82143f2d8b49b7215a6fd083d29fbd7c265b80ff0346c589db908878eb5b50

I actually ditched my stock 20's for these 19s, they about 27lbs a piece so I got some significant weight reduction there. Been having traction problems ever since I went to e30, not that I'm super upset about that, just want to be able to plant it! Think I'm going to just put in the order for the new tires, probably just get Conti's and hopefully get some better races before the season is over.

Just pulled the trigger on DWS's getting them installed tomorrow unless they don't show up at the store on time. Sounds like covid is slowing their shipments down to.

I would agree. I had a great experience with Conti DWS on my vehicle previous to the SHO. But the first time I purchased tires for the SHO I went with B.F. Goodrich g-force Comp-2 A/S. They had a 45K tread wear warranty. Yeah, Um about that, they lasted a whopping 16,800 miles. I’ll admit. I’m not the easiest on tires. But less than 50%?? And I’m religious about rotation and inflation, etc. Then, to claim on the warranty, you had to pay to send the tires back. And they must arrive on an evening when the one eyed brown dog howls at the full blue moon at the strike of midnight. Oh yeah, and you also have to lay out another $800 for another set to start the whole process!! Great warranty!

Oh dang, I was actually looking at those too! Glad I didn't make that mistake.

I have no doubt you’ll be much happier with your choice. Of course I exaggerated a little on the requirements. But not by much. It was something like no more than 2mm discrepancy in tread wear at any point across the face of any one of the tires at any point. Good luck with that.

Oh man, so i got dws06 after work and there is a noticeable difference in the feel of the ride as a whole. Aside from that the tires are damn near flush they poke just a little, but overall glad I made the switch.
Wait till you get them in the snow, they’re pretty killer in that department too... if you don’t burn through your S by then. ;)

How’s the grip? I love my DWS06’s!!!

Definitely better, my old tires spun like crazy in first, turns out, all 4 tires had varying degrees of delamination on the inside. Guessing just having cheap ****** tires and the stress of launching they just couldn't hang in, so glad I swapped over. I did launch when I left the tire shop, tires squeaked a little but grabbed quick!
