I do remember in the early life of the DWS06, they had some issues. In the last two + years I've had mine, 0 complaints. Wearing very well for my driving style, great traction and smooth/quiet ride.

I can relate though in poor experiences. I had a set of 255/45/20 Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 that I installed right after buying my car and in 9K miles, they had to be replaced (wore down). Installed the DWS06 and after about 25K miles (changed nothing from previous), they still have 15/20K left according to Discount Tire. On my Explorer, I had a set of Firestone Destination A/T's installed and I took it back 8 times in 7 months to be balanced. They would literally shake starting at 45 mph... The 8th time, they decided to road force balance them and turns out I had two bad tires. They swapped those and 3 months later, my 9th visit was because all 4 tires had sidewall cracking. They then gave me a new set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2's for free that I turned around and sold.

This is my exact story with the DWS06! I was at my local Ford dealer getting a free oil change. They came out to talk to me about my car and give me the usual run-down. Then they started to tell me the tires are in bad shape and need to be replaced very soon - I literally started laughing and said no, no, no they only have about 11,000 miles on them and I only commute 5 miles to my job - no spirited driving or track driving etc. They walked me out to my car and showed me. Holy shit, the DWS06 were almost completely bald! Thanks goodness I got about $600 back from Continental to put towards my new set. You're correct, there was an issue with these tires early on - all kinds of complaints on different car forums - I don't know if Continental ever came out and acknowledged this or not.

They did and they fixed the situation. I had the first gens and I didn't have wear issues. I had sidewall issues.

After doing research and posting on here, I found that Conti had fixed the situation and my new tires are awesome.

I still strongly recommend everyone when it's time to replace tires to at least look and compare ALL the qualities of a new tire - when these managers showed me the different between the DWS06 and the Continental Control Contact Sport I was sold. Especially knowing the Control Sport was made with a heavy AWD sport sedan in mind.
