im looking to get new rims and wheels. im looking at two different wheels, 17x7 and 17x8. right now i have the slicers with 225/60R16 firestone tires. the tires are too big and are rubbing the spring and look HUGE on the car, would 215/40R17 do the trick with the new rims, any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks.

with 215/40-17s you would have a huge fender gap unless your car is lowered, if you get 17x8 i would go with 235/45-17s, if you get 17x7 your tire selection is more limited, most people run 225/45-17s, however 225/50-17s will keep your speedo the most acturate but you selection will be very limited with that size.

Rubbing with 225's? My 225/55/16 Yoko's for my Slicers dont rub niether does my 18x8 TD Motorsports with 235/40/18 rub. I would go with 1992blackMTX suggestion because if you get 215/40/17 you will need at least 3+" drop just to make it look decent
