Has anyone run 205/55/16s on their SHO with slicers?

They are the same height as the 225/50s I am running (only in front), but they seem to be slightly narrower.

What would be any drawbacks to running a 205/55/16" tire on my car?

i had similar concerns when looking into a set for my car. I eventually decided to go with the stock tire size. very pleased.

look for (considering eagle F1's) thread. it might help you a little.

They seem slightly narrower because they are slightly narrower. The first number is the width of the tire.. 225 > 205. 205s are stock on my '95 SLO.. I'd stick with the stock size..

I was trying to keep this on the cheap side...
I had found a set of 205/55s, and that is why I asked.

I've run 225/50s and 225/55s and like them both. I'm just having trouble finding another pair to match the (2) 225/50s I'm running in the front.

Thanks for the insight.

Stock tire size- 215/60/16 - 26.1" overall tire height

Tire in question- 205-55-16- 24.9" overall tire height

This is the problem i see with it, not only is the tire narrower which i think would look crappy because 215 are too narrow IMO, but then with less profile you wont fill the wheel well as much so unless you intrax or some sort of 2" i wouldnt do it.

Seeing as how I'm currently running the same overall tire height, it doesn't look all that bad. But, I agree that the 205 just seems really toooo narrow for the SHO.

Is your car lowered ?, Im on 225/45/17 which has 25.1" overall so im not far from the tire height of the tires your looking at but i have a coil cut out of my intrax and i think that 92 is one of the years with shorter strut mounts so my front end is in the grass i think thats why i dont have a huge wheel gap still. Heres a pic for refence:

I'm currently running 225/50ZR16s, coming from 215/60R16. I really like the extra grip I get from the new tires, and I don't spin the tires when hitting 4k anymore :). Highly recommended.
