Ive done 20% and I think its perfect... Its dark at night, but light enough during the day to not get you in trouble... and at night you can still see out perfectly.

My brothers got 15% on his GTP and you cant see in at all in the sun, I think thats a little dark, but it looks great...

Take a look at my CarDomain, I got some pictures there that show how it looks in the day light...

No matter what you choose, tint helps the car so much :thumb:

Just make sure that whatever percent you put on, it's legal in your state.
That stuff can be a bear to get off, especially if it's been on for awhile.

I'm currently in the process of tinting my windows. I'm doing 35% all the way around. I think 35% is not too bad on the outside, but if you want something more towards the darker side, I would go with 20%. If you are doing this yourself, use lots of water and go slow. The rear quarter panel windows are also tricky because of all the little dots around the window..

I've had 20% and 5%, I would recommend 20, it looks nice, cuts down on a lot of sunlight and isnt too dark as to attract the 5 oh.
(I think you meant you want to get the windows tinted vs YOU want to tint them. Having done both, I'd recommend paying the $200ish to get it done by a pro and get lifetime warranty)

I have 35% all the way around on my 97. I think it's perfect. I'm from Ohio where the law is 50%, been pulled over twice and they never looked at it or questioned me about it (knock on wood). It is dark at night and dark enough in the daytime. Very good investment in my opinion, looks great. I think it also looks best when it is the same all the way around the car rather than having it being lighter up front and darker in the back.

Ive got 15% all around....honestly, I should have done 20%. I like what I have but it is REALLY dark and not to jinx myself but im surprised it hasnt drawn any attention *crosses fingers*
Id go with 20% all around, looks good and isnt so dark that youll get noticed.

Well, I've had time to give it a try....and I need some help. That will be for a seperate thread. Basically I agree if you don't have a lot of time to try it out for yourself.

I've done it myself several times but always had atleast 1 person help me. It's easy to get the film stuck to itself on accident, it's easier with two people to cut the film once its on the window, and faster to squeeze the water out too.
Anyways, I figure each roll of tint film is between 12 to 16 bucks (auto parts store prices last time i checked) depending on what 'quality' you get.
You need at least 3 rolls to do a 4 door car. So thats 36$ plus tax plus tint adhesion formula etc.
In the end, the film itself isnt very high quality at all, at most, it'll last a couple years if you're lucky, before it starts turning purple and fading. Not only that, but the rear window I can almost guarantee you, will be so hard to get all the water bubbles out (assuming you do get them all) that youll just frustrate yourself, or will simply not look good.
So it's only 40 some odd dollars, and if it lasts 2 years, you can do it again right?
Except now, you have all this glue on your windows, and if you want to remove the tint to re do it your self, youll be putting a few hours of work with a blade and chemicals to remove it. Or if you do decide to get it done at a shop, they'll charge you around 80$ just to remove the old stuff before they can tint it.
Anyhow, just my two cents. Hope it helps.
