bought a '93 ATX for the wife to replace a void left after the loss of my '92 MTX. just finnished full 120K. Now the tranny is acting crazy...but I don't know if it's overhaul time or replacement time. Leaving a light under normal throttle all is good shifts smooth through all gears. If you try to rabbit from a light it basiclly does a "neutral drop", also it will occasionally slip in higher gears but not very often. The fluid is nice and clean, and does not leak. It sometimes plays "hunt the gear" under heavy acceleration.
So I ask do I just need to replace clutch pack and bands or am I looking at buying a rebuilt trans? All input and opinions are welcome. If I am being to vague, just ask me what you need to know.
TIA,
Chris

You could try to run the codes (links to instructions in my sig) to see if perhaps the VSS is acting up, but from the sound of it I'm sorry to say that you're probably going to be a unwilling member of the "I need a new tranny" club... :(
