i need to purchase a new tie rod
not just the end
i need the whole thing
im having a bit of trouble looking around online
i really dont want to call ford knowing they will charge an arm, leg and left nut.
so if anyone knows of a site that would be great

i hit a curb pretty bad
snapped my tierod and destroyed my tire and rim

im already looking at a rim on ebay waiting to see how the auction goes
a place for a cheap chrome rim would also be helpful

If you need the "whole thing", what you need are the two ends. The outer end is just a ball-type joint that connects the inner tie rod end to the steering knuckle. The inner end is a long shaft with a ball-type joint that screws into the steering rack.

I recommend Moog tie rod ends from RockAuto.com. Get your discount code here. I recommend doing both sides since you'll have the subframe down. It's not a hard job... 3 hours or so for both sides (inner and outer on each side).

Just did both my inner and outer ends. If you can get the Lisle style inner tie
rod tool you won't have to drop the sub frame. Replacing the parts with new
will make a world of difference in the steering.

You must have amazing dexterity! I couldn't get the clamps back on the boot w/o dropping the back side of the subframe an inch or two.

I don't see why dropping the subframe is such a big deal. It only takes about 2 minutes.
