i just replaced the outer tie rods and i still hear this rubbing type noise when i steer into a parking lot or make a right or left turn, its not really bad, just really annoying, it sounds like something is rubbing, anyone has that on their SHO?

i second the strut bearings, i'm not sure if they are like probes or not, but they have plastic bearing retainers that crack and cause that problem, if it get's bad enough they catch and clunk when you turn.

i checked out midwest SHO for front strut bearing and they said its good to change the strut bearing when installing new struts and shocks. the struts and springs on my SHO have about 5K on them, the previous owner changed them but didn't install new strut bearings, should i still install the new strut bearings now or wait until the next time i have to change the struts? how hard is it to install the strut bearings anyway? and will i damage anything if i wait to long?

I don't know how critical it is in changing them if they are only groaning a little. You can change them on the car without taking the struts off, but it will be a challenge. You would have to compress the spring(spring compressor), take the single nut holding the strut together and then take off the three nuts holding the strut in. Somebody will have to leverage the suspension down by putting a pry bar between the front locating link and the frame. This should pull the strut down far enought to give you enough room to lift the strut bushing with the three studs off the top of the strut and then remove the bearing plate and replace with a new one, put the strut bushing back on and replace in reverse order. I have never done it this way but I am pretty sure there is enough room.

Here is a picture of the spring seat plate with bearing.
