Well, I think those who know what I've done to my exhaust know how I feel about free flowing, open exhaust, LOL. Loud for sure, but I think there's gains to be made in that area. I say go for it, they seem easy enough to remove and revert should you find it doesn't suit you.

My question is, how do these ones work? I was trying to see what they meant by automatic. Are they boost/vacuum referenced? Is that what is connected to that actuator?

It's like a waste gate, just run a vacuum line and when it seeing "x" boost it will open

I had ideas of doing this way back. Boost activated and I found a video of someone claiming power increase on a dyno. I've seen a set of welded ones with an x pipe and it was a work of art...pricey too. Then I've seen some that look like balls hanging lol and too low to the ground. So a proper mounting is definitely something to consider.

Granted it will be loud as ****, but at least its free flowing when I get on it.

Having the exhaust go right from turbos to stock cats to behind the front wheel and it still wasn't loud. Unless you have test pipes it's not a loud car.

The gains will be extremely minimal and at the end of the day - it's still a 6-banger! This car will never sound good! I've spent too much time and money with mine that I regret!

Oh it's very easy to make these sound good, it's just harder if you want pipe all the way back. I've got a Borla pro-xs on it now though and it sounds good for a quieter exhaust.

Saw these tonight and figured they would be worth a mention. Anyone dealt with anything like this? Figured cuts would gain performance waited without spending 1k on a full exhaust. Granted it will be loud as ****, but at least its free flowing when I get on it.

I had electric cutouts for a minute, if you have stock cats it's not too loud but it's droney as **** at cruising speed. I've wanted to try the boost activated ones for a couple years but never got around to it.

To each their own as it goes - I'm just use to the very deep aggressive V8 rumble or even a V10 like Audi or Lambo. Any 4 or 6 knocker sounds so raspy and drony - it's just physics, I can't stand it. Don't get me wrong, I've heard some OK ones and mine is at the point is "decent," but just today an older (the most recent version, 2000-something) of the Pontiac GTO pulled up next to me and holy shit that sounded amazing!

Yeah I can't stand any rasp at all, it has to be deep which is why I never cheap out on things like this. Its also the entire reason I kept the stock cats lol.
