This will get you thinking...UPDATE *PIC*

I am very sick of this... My camber is not off very much AT ALL, and no matter what tires i put on the front of my car... It EATS the inside of the tire. Has any one before had a problem with the tire maybe hitting somthing? I will get pics tommrow, but the tire no lie just gets chewed up until the belts are shown... I can put up with this any longer HELP!

*update with the pics*

drill the spot welds on the stock camber plate, and cut the little tabs off. Then have your alignment tech loosen the strut mount bolts and move the plate to where the camber is in spec. once it is in spec, tighten them down to the proper torque and they will not move until you loosen them again.

You're talking about the inside of tread or the inner sidewall? How do you know your camber is good?

My dad had some GForce KDWS's on his 93, they were slightly wider than stock..one morning the tire was flat, i pulled to see that the mud guard on the strut had eaten away at the sidewall/inner tread. not a pretty sight.

incorrect toe-out in the front can also cause the tires to wear the inside edge. and if the inside and outside edges are wearing it could also be tire pressure.

Body roll. Take a good look at what happens up front during agressive cornering. As a car leans in a corner the inside wheel drops, as it drops the steering geometry causes the top to lean in and the bottom to lean out. That lean causes just the inner edge of the tire to be in contact with the pavement. Add some acceleration and you get max wear on the inside shoulder.
Everything up front has an effect on the inner wear, wide rims, soft parts, bent parts, worn parts, size of stabilizer bars, stiffness of stuts. And of course, driving style.
What are you alignment numbers? Just saying "in spec, or good" doesn't cut it with SHOs.

a friend of mine had problems with cutting tires on his mustang...it had chopped springs and wide tires...

how low is your car? what suspensions setup do you have? is it modified to go lower? and what size are your tires? are your fenders rolled?

i have noticed that my 'stock sized' tires are really close to touching the strut. there is just enough room for a finger tip in there.

but it looks like a cut in the tire from the pics, as in the strut not suppressing the cars downweight while going over a bump...bouncing the tire off of the fender. this is only if your tires are bigger...therefore sticking out of the wheel well just enough to hit its edge while going over a bump. and also only if the slice is one the outside edge of the tire... but thats not your case.

actually i would say get the front tires off of the ground and then get under the car and turn the steering wheel to each end point and see if would be rubbing something.
