I'm not really looking for answers here. I'm more or less ranting. If you feel the need to move this thread then go ahead.

Anyways, today I go out to start my car and nothing happens. I checked my oil and noticed that it was low. I put the rest of the oil I carried with me in the car (3/4 quart). I was still low but it started. I go to the gas station and get another quart and put another 3/4 in to fill it up. Now driving to school I noticed that it wants to die. RPM's slowly drop so I have to rev it up to keep it alive. It did this yesterday too but I didn't really think much about it. All these problems with the car and not being able find a job sucks big time. Not to mention there's a slight knocking too! I just want something that had some power and was fairly reliable. I knew buying this SHO for 1500 bucks there had to be something wrong with it.
If anyone is giving away a free engine in good condition I'll take it off your hands. wink

Once again, sorry for the rant. I just feel much better writing this.

Now off to look for a thunderbird turbo coupe. Hopefully the Ford 2.3's have less problems.

Although I do like my SHO I need something I can drive everyday. Not being able to find a job is my problem mostly. No money = no maintenance :(

I'm just wondering how much I could get out of it if I sold it. 122K miles, primered, new tranny at 90K, 92 MTX, a/c needs fixed.

The idling problem is probably due to a dirty/malfuntioning IAB. It's fairly easy to clean and has a good chance of helping. Make sure you perform the idle relearn procedure.

The knocking may (or may not) be coming from rod bearings. Reportedly, they aren't too difficult to replace.

As far as the value of your car, you're probably in the bucket on that one. No revenue is a big hassle.

Let's see... primered body, knocking engine, and non functioning a/c. I think you would have to literally give it away for free.
If you're looking for a car with no money for repairs I think looking at highly used domestic cars is a really bad idea. Especially a high mile turbo car.

Well parts for a TC aren't near as rare or expensive as parts for the SHO. That's my main problem. You do know the turbo 2.3 is a really great engine with all forged internals.

not to mention it's MUCH MUCH easier to work on since it's RWD.

I wasn't really hip to that. I just see 2.3 in a car that big and I run the other way. I just think if you really don't want to get bogged down in maintenance used Japanese is the most reliable in my experience.

yeah but I can't help it if I'm biased. All you do is turn the boost up on the TC's. The stock block can take way over 350 HP.
