OK,
My SHO started doing this a few weeks ago, but it was not as frequent.

The whole problem is that under acceleration the parking brake light comes on. If i let off it goes away. At first it was no big deal, b/c no other problems were assciated with it, and it only happend under heavy acceleration.

Now it happens everytime I accelerate, and it seems to be associated with another problem that i am now having. The tach seems to be cutting out, under hard acceleration, and the coming back on, under hard acceleration(somtimes).... Or sometimes it doesn't come back on, and the car dies with in a few moments. I let it sit for a min. or two, and it starts up...

I don't know what to do.

Thanks for any advice!!!

I don't think your two problems are related, but I could be wrong.

Your park brake light is possibly the sensor down by your feet when you take the brake off it pushes the sensor in.

Your car dieing and restarting very soon after...along with tac dropping is a very common sign of crank shaft position failure. This is usually, but not always caused by a leaking water pump.

Both of these problems could be associated with battery connections/grounds also. I would check to make shure they are all clean and tight.

Actually I don't think the tach dropping is associated with the crank position sensor, I beleieve thats the Camshaft Identifaction Sensor. But I'm not totally sure on that, maybe the Crankshaft Position Sensor does mess with the tach?

I believe that they both control the tach, but the thing is is was have this problem before, (the tach problem, with out the light problem) and I just replaced the camshaft position sensor, from one off my parts car. And the Crank position sensor was done when i got this car in febuary...

My guess on the first problem.

Your brake warning light may be coming on because you have a low brake fluid level. When you accelerate, it sloshes the fluid to the back and the sensor is tripped. As the pads wear, the level will drop further, causing it to come on more. Short answer. I would check brake fluid level.

The other problem is probably not related (unless the brake light is coming on only after the car dies). I would check out the suggestions already presented for that issue.

Ok, I filled up the brake fluid, and took it for a spin, and everything looks great with that... Thanks guys. I feel stupid for not checking the brake fluid... :bonk:

Now can anyone explain why the Crank or Cam sensor would go bad so quick? Because I think thats my other problem????

Good thing you got the brake thing figured out :thumb:

About the crank or cam sensor, if they were used sensors then they could have just gone. If they are new well then you might have a vac leak. Your cars an ATX so your clutches will absorb some flucuation and not let you feel it. My 9 has been miss firing HORRID, tach drops and rises, I have to ride the clutch real hard. Don't know exactly what it is, probably a vac leak?

Sometimes ya just get bum sensors. And never trust a used one :)
Sounds like a crank sensor though if your car dies - that sucks cuz it's the PITA sensor.

Check the connections on the DIS module. On one of my SHO's it was cracked causing the harness to come loose making the tach all funky.
