Different shops have different definitions for this service. Labor rates vary from shop to shop and area to area. It would be very difficult to say with much accuracy. How far are you from Performance Plus in Madison WI? Maybe a good wrencher from here will do the job for a good price. It is a bit involved and most shops will charge a good bit of $$ for what we would consider a full 60k service.

BTW-there is an old list of recommended shops by sho owners located on the http://www.shotimes.com website Look in their FAQ section for a link to the list.

If you can't find someone that has done it before to do it, consider doing it yourself. With the help you can find on here it would not be too hard and would be a great learning experience for you.

I've heard too many horror stories about local shops working on SHOs... rofl IMHO if you own an SHO you should do your best to do all the work you can yourself, otherwise it will be very very expensive to maintain. thumb

Well I live in Saint Paul, MN. I just purchased my first SHO. It's a 93' ATX with 128k on it. How do find out if it has the 3.0 or 3.2 motor and which is considered better? THX Keith

There is no such thing as a stupid question. I am doing my 60k right now and I will be in about $600 parts and labor. I'm doing the upper and front and the parts are hard to find and kind of expensive, but I luckily got a saintly board member to come help me.

All ATX cars have a 3.2L motor. Mike Courtney does SHO work in Eden Prarie (sp?) MN. Courtney Truck Service is his company name IIRC.

the cost and labor of a 60K all depend on what you want to check/replace. just a note though, replacing an electrical part as part of the 60K will not guarantee you another 60K miles of trouble free performance. also, these items will not give any warning when they are about to fail.

Look on my site under "Parts Changing Intervals"... or something like that :D

As mentioned, ATX=3.2 MTX=3.0

Hey Keith!

Does the SHO in my avatar look familiar? Ha ha... this is just my opinion, but I would try and call Performance Plus in Madison. It's about a four hour drive, but if the price is right, you should be pretty happy with the work.
