I ran my codes. 111 on KOEO, 111 on KOER, cyl bal. shows a problem with 3 and 4. This is disturbing. Coil, DIS, plugs, wires, injector seals, have all been changed. I guess I should check to see if there is oil in the spark plug wells. I had a valve cover gasket bolt loose on the rear head. Tightened it, but didn't check the wells in the back. This doesn't explain cylinder 4 though. I do have some oil coming out of the valve cover bolts, and I hope it's not creeping into the plug wells. Ugh. Another weekend with the intake off.

is the coil hooked up right? cylinders 3 and 4 share a coil, IIRC.

Explain. The wires are hooked up correctly, and the plug is all the way in for the coil pack. *20 minutes later* I just checked all the front plug wells, there is a tiny (drop or 2) bit of oil in 6, but the seals are dry. It probably got in there when doing the oil change. But 4 and 5 were bone dry. I haven't checked 3, since it's a PITA to get too. Oh, the coil...it's fine. All the wires are plugged in, no bare wire, spark plug wires are in the right order, etc.

That is very weird....

If the coil was fine i would suspect the DIS. But if the DIS was fine, i would not know were to go.... i mean other than plugs/wires. but for the miss to be on the two cylinders that share a coil, is just weird...

Can you swap out the coil with a know working one? DIS? or have you gone through these steps allready?

I've swapped the coil with a known working one from an MTX...could this be an issue? Maybe I'll just try a new one. I have a friend with a couple DISs, I'll see if I can't swap mine for one of his as a test.

No the coils are the same.

That would be the next place to check. FWIW, i have had 3 DIS modules go out on me... (knocks on wood)

did you hook that lil resistor looking thing up to the Coil pack when you bolted it back down?
50620049

that thingy that I'm half assed pointing at.

Also, are the bolts for the crossover tube good and tight? Them are the grounds for the DIS...

That's a good question. Even though I'm at work, I'm on my lunch break. Let me go check that.

Yes, it's plugged in. Everything else seems ok. Previous to this, I was having an issue with cylinder 3 only. I wonder if this CP/DIS is failing.

We already swapped DIS unless I gave you a bad DIS. I did test it and it was fine. I think......:nut:

Start tracing wires to and from the coil pack and the DIS. Take a close look at the wires near the ground strap on the back of the intake manifold.

The rear grounding nut decided to commit suicide. Either that, or I didn't tighten down enough. I take blame for nothing! Went to AZ, got a new nut, hooked up the ground...bam...no more misfire. Once again, thanks guys!

Well, there was this guy named Matt that kept hanging off of them. The only way to get him to stop hanging on them was to cut them off. I feel better now, but I just have to take testosterone the rest of my life. Oh well, small price to pay.
