Apparently the driver of the lotus is ok, and the driver of the Miata broke his neck but should recover ok. Im trying to get more details, but in my perspective the Miata driver didnt really have much of a chance to see the waving yellow. Im not sure when the Lotus spun relative to when the waving yellow was issued. But based on this in-car, it appears the Miata was at corner-exit when the waving yellow was issued. Right before the collision you can see the Miatas brake lights engage. I wonder how much that helped? After the collision you can see the Miata on 2 wheels in the rear-view mirror. Take a look at how quickly things can go wrong:

That vid has been going around for a few days now. Word is the Lotus driver is fine and the Miata driver will be fine but has a broken or cracked vertebra.

It's been a bad season for SCCA drivers this year. Beginning of the season, a turkey flew into the helmet of a driver at Blackhawk. Last I heard he was still in a coma and that had to be April-ish. At Road America, another driver had a heart attack and went straight into a tire wall and didn't make it. And that's just the local division. Obviously it comes with the sport, but it's still heartbreaking, especially growing up in SCCA my whole life.
