I have a bulb out (I think its an led) on my third brake light (on the spoiler of my 93 mtx). I think the manual says to replace the whole thing, but I think I can just solder in a new bulb. Has anyone ever done this? I like to think I'm quite handy when it comes to an iron and wires. Any info is appreciated thanks

I believe it is all 1 unit. I have yet to see any one replace an individual LED.

Can't one desolder the bad led and solder a new one in? I would prefer a 50 cent fix to a $40 problem if it's possible.

Well its burnt out you have 2 choices: buy a new one, OR try to fix the old one and if it works your fine and if it doesnt you buy a new one.

But i would imagine the hardest part of replacing these leds is getting to them, im not real sure how these wings work not having on my car yet. b ut if you cant get to it im sure you could solder in one no problem.
