Third brake light dim

My 2010 third brake light is only half bright. I tend to react late to traffic so I don't want to get run over. It seems there is a strip laid on the back glass for the wiring.
Anyone else had this problem?

mine was out on my 13. had it replaced. few days later, coworker said it was out again. brought it to another dealership to fix, but they could not verify it not working. few days after I picked it back up, it was doing it again. I don't feel like paying the esp fee again, so i'll deal with it.

You shouldn't have to pay the fee again for an unresolved complaint. If need be, I'd take it up with the service manager.

I am having the same problem on my 2011 Taurus SHO. The light works but very dim. I am not sure how to even get to the parts and would hate to "rip" down something on accident. Wating to hear from Ford if my easycare warrant will cover the repair. What was the resolution to this earlier posted issue?
