Hey everyone, currently drive 2011 sel fwd and really have the itch to upgrade to the SHO.
I found a Sho non pp near by with 112k with maintenance history for 10k or actually willing to do $9500. Pretty clean car, no leaks, good body but the turbos were not replaced and appear to be original. The price seems good, but during the test drive it shuddered really bad at wot getting on the freeway. I couldn't really replicate the issue but the owner did complain about turbo lag.
It almost felt like a misfire. Maybe bad turbo?
Due to this I told the seller I would think it over for a day before making my decision as my research tells me that not many are keeping sho around after 100k.
What are your thoughts at this price point with issue like this? I presume I would have to redo the turbos soon and read that it can be 3k or so.
My other thought is buying newer one with 39k miles from the dealer and financing it vs cash for the one I have described above. This would be my secondary car if that matters. Would love to hear your opinion. My work schedule makes it difficult to have a mechanic take a look.
Thanks,
Mike

I bought mine with 175k km (~108k miles). Only reason I decided to was because both turbos, water pump and timing chain had been replaced recently and were still under warranty.
If you are ok with potentially spending additional $3k and dealing with the repairs, go for it. Otherwise is always better to buy a low mileage one if it fits the budget.

Usually shuddering like that on acceleration is as simple as spark plugs. These motors absolutely hate old plugs.
