Just got my new Auto-X Tires in from Tirerack.

They are Dunlop Direzza Star Spec Z1's (Dunlop's Kick-ass street Auto-X Tire). I got them in a 245/40/17. They will be replacing my Yokohama AVS-ES100's...which...are not bad performance tires for the street but on a Auto-X course They will heat up....get greasy...then overheat...turn to stone and NEVER be as sticky as they once were.

FWIW, Dunlops doing a 80 Dollar Mail in Rebate if you buy 4. I bought these at 151 dollars a peice but the smaller sizes (Or even the same size, with a 45 series sidewall instead of a 40) are at least 20-30 dollars cheaper a Tire. Even cheaper if you have a 16'' wheel. If you have a SHO that doesn't get driven much (Expect only 20k at most out of these tires) and want a Seriously good gripping, Trackable street tire... This is it!

Should be fun! Just waiting on my Team Dynamic Pro-Race 1.2's to come in.

I freakn LOVE the smell of new tires in the house. Not shopping now but thinking about using slicers for the track tires, that was my pick too.

Those are the tires I'll be getting here soon. My current tires are super sticky but the lack of tread found going sideways getting on the on-ramp today in the rain. It was puckering :)

It's amazing what good tires do for performance. How often do you get to race?

At the very least once a Month.

These Tire also do pretty damn good in the rain, Which was another reason I chose them as we run Auto-X Rain or shine and with the way NC Weather is.... It will be hot and miserable one minute...and well... Raining and Miserable the next!

I'd try to go with something Wider then a Slicer. I'd look at some 16x7 SC Thunderbird wheels. :sun:

Yea I know I should, but I've got 2-3 sets in the garage, and I'm not running for time, just fun.
I've got the SVT 17's on there now w/ 235 45 Eagle F1's off Nenos car. Shreaded them pretty good w/ Adam in May, but I don't want to mess them up anymore.
Aw **** yea right, I'm gonna destroy them in two weeks anyway and I'll need something new in a 17. lol:nut:
