 THESE *&$#@ BRAKES ARE ******* ME OFF! shoot

Why the F would Ford put these useless pieces of crap on a car this heavy and fast. It's total BS!
Ford really is backwards - driver Returns On Foot!

It seams like once every 6-8 weeks another Caliper is bad, another rotor is shot, The E-brake freezes, or ALL OF THE ABOVE!

It's enough to make a guy want to eat a big bowl of F-ing RICE! ******* things may sound like a motor boat, but at least they spend more time on the road than in the shop!

Anyway, now that I'm done venting, almost, I've been hearing this -WHOOSH- sound when applying the pedal, and the F-ing pedal won't come back up when you get off it. Plus the car feels like it's being 'held back' when you try and drive. Once you lift the pedal with your foot, the drag goes away. I thought it must be the booster, but my mechanic says that the booster is OK because there is no fluid leak, and the vaccuum is good, but also that the left front caliper is grabbing, PLUS the E-brake is frozen on the right side.

The caliper and E-brake idea may account for the drag, but what about my pedal! I feel like I'm playing F-ing footsie with myself every time I drive!

Is my mechanic wrong? I've been driving various cars for almost 15 years now and I've spent more $ in brakes on this SHO than all my other cars combined!

I can't take this crap while clutching in Bumper-to-Bumper traffic any longer! By the way, this is also compounded by the fact that the damn Blend Door Actuator is stuck on full heat and were in the dead of summer!

Hey man, can you do your own work ?
if you can there are some things you need to do.

Make sure the Brakes are blead correctly

Disconnect the parking brake cables from both calipers

It is allso possible that your rubber brake lines are getting smashed due to the metal holder that rusts cutting the flow of fluid.

Check these things then see how she goes. i have been through all of this... :(

P.S Deep Jewel Green is the correct color wink

The bleeder pin was busted off, so I couldn't bleed that side. With the new caliper installed it should be cool.

Unfortunately, I can't disconnect the E-brake, as I have an MTX (91) and I live on a semi-steep hill!

I will check the brake lines, now that you mention it, and thanx also for correcting me on the color! thumbs_u

I know the answer to all your brake problems. Can you say"BRAKE BOOSTER".You have all the classic symptoms, just like my 92.Ford issue a TSB on this problem #92-19-2.Taurus SHO's with ABS built 8/90-1/92.The brake booster diaphragm return spring gets weak with age and can no longer return the brake pedal completely after application.Symptoms include dragging brakes, feels like you left the parking engaged, etc. The new updated booster part number #F2DZ-2005-A,from Ford is about $325.00 its not cheap, but i guarantee it will fix your problem also its a job to change one out.GOOD LUCK!!!
