That is a good website for those of you who would like to convert their 1/8 ET to 1/4 mile... I don't know if it would work for all cars, but I validated with Gen4 AWD and it is right on every time. but for sure, other Gen, it will be more accurate the better your launch is.
Hope it can be useful for some of you...

"Just to be clear, you ran your best run on the 1/8 mile in 8.63 sec. at 82.39mph?
It is the first time I see odd calculations like that! 60ft, 68ft, 338ft, 594ft... bizarre... Anyways, if you did 8.63 at 82.39, my guess is that you would do the 1/4 mile in about 13.45sec. at around 107mph... what were the conditions (temp, humidity, wind, altitude)?
Good run bro!
Steve"

Correct, fastest pass was at 82.60 MPH. Most of central Tenn is around 800 feet or so, temp was in the mid 70's and I'm not sure of the humidity figures but it was moist for mid 70's temp. Wind was negligable.

Most of the calculation converters for 1/8 to 1/4 mile times show a 13.55 second pass. Fywheel HP 400 plus, 350 wheel HP.

The scan of the slips I did changed some of the 60 ft measurments to 68ft , and 330 ft measurements to 338 ft.

Iv'e had H&R spring (still in the box) since last October, do you think there is any gain with the lowering of the car?

1st, if you already have it, you should definitely have it installed (make sure you have the car aligned after a week, otherwise you might have problems like me with premature wearing of tires).
2nd : The car looks better, sportier
3rd : It handles better, more response with the steering and better in the curves
4th : Lower means more aerodynamic and lower center of gravity

So, all that, I would answer that YES you have a lot of gain in lowering the car...

Enjoy!

Going back out to the dragstrip in the blue turd one week from now. Plan on going out and running at least 14.4 around 99-100mph. I have a few tricks up my sleeve that are going to net me 2.1 60ft times. Also going out there with a new BBB and Pnp intake. Wish me luck.

Everytime I look at the list Texas Tony's run makes me laugh a little. 122mph trap speed is huge, yet because we drive sho's it equals a 13.1 ET. If someone didnt know about sho's they would be wondering "How in the heck can someone trap that fast and run a 13.1".....the answer is cause once it hooked up the car was crazy fast, it just didnt happen til about 1/2 way down the track.:)

Roush...

You should be able to get that 60' down to around 1.80-1.82, that would put you around the same 1/4 mile time as Steve. How are you launching??

I have tried various launches. All are from loading up the converter. I have tried just about all RPM levels from 1,500 to about 2,500. I have tried letting the car jump then gradually going to WOT to just hammering it.

So far the best 60' has been around 2,000 RPM and then hammering it as releasing the brake. The more aggressive I launch with the most wheel spin gets me best 60'.

When I go for less spin the 60' and ET suffer.

I have been racing RWD Mustangs since the early 80's (with slicks) but this car is so different it has me scratching my head.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

I will hijack the thread very quickly... yesterday I was not launching as good as I should have for the times I got. All day was between 1.85 to 1.90... The staging area was not well prepped, the asphalt was peeing off! That was a new track, so I should have seen around 1.80 indeed... but then I would have had high 12.6's. Summer tires really make the huge difference as they bite in the asphalt and barely spin, so no energy wasted... I looked at your video Darreli and your tires are spinning... I guess at one point the excess power have that effect. So, Ralph, new tires and you will definitely launch at around 1.85 with same setup...
G/L and see you soon in Napierville!

Some wheel spin isnt necessarily bad
Any spin you have is slowing you down... but any spin you don't have (if you have enough power) means you are not launching fast enough. So it is easier to launch until you hear your tires spinning, but not too much...
