Also holds a Optima Yellow top. the sub box is 85% complete i need to install the ports and put it together in the trunk. Amp rack is waiting on the nine.4 to get here. i still have to raise the floor about a inch from stock to build a little area to hold some tools and such.

Very nice, Nice choice on the Knuconepts wiring. My buddy had a 15" Eclipse Aluminum pro series put in his grand prix with the top of the line JL audio amp this weekend. I dont know the model name but it retails for right around $1600 i think. He hit a 153.2 dB with it. Very impressive!!

Why does everybody put the sub backwards in the trunk? Doesn't that cause a lot of cancellation? I tried turning my two 15's backwards once and it sounded like doo, doo. I mounted them forward and tried to separate the front from the trunk area as much as possible. Hit so hard with only 400 watts mono that if you sat in the back seat and stared at the clock, you couldn't keep your eyeballs from shaking.

Actually, it is the opposite. If you face the sub towards the trunk, the sub sends the sound waves toward the back, it then reflects off (and rattles the trunk) and enters the cabin.

If you were to face your subs towards the front of your car, the sound waves somehow bounce off things and cancel each other out, making it quieter. Maybe someone else can finish my explaination, sorry.

No its acctually more along the lines of reflection. When a sub freq bounces off a solid object aka rear of trunk the refracted signal is in theory 3db louder. No theres alot of ifs in this idea. #1 a ported box is harder to make this perfect unless the port or ports fire the same way as the sub. sealed its simple move the box towards the back and there ya go. where as the major and almost only diff is that with it facing forward you don't get the refraction gain. The SHO is extremly hard to say what is right for what setup becuase of the hole in the rear deck. i had one 15 stroker that hit 151.2ish and this last one might haver broken 140 if it was lucky.

Any question about the theory of that just ask..

The SHO is a wierd beast the hole for the stock sub while some would think it helps with the sound transfer it acctually hinders it slightly. take that box thats in the pics. Port was firing directly into that hole. Box sounded ok but compared to the single 12 in a sealed box i have not in the spare tire well it was like a 6.5 on the rear deck.

Ya ill get pics of the new new set up again seems this one is staying awhile. heres a Little teaser.

I understand what your saying, but in my experience, it just didn't work out for me. I know there is a lot of cancellation going on if you can't completely separate one side of the sub from the other. If you pop open your trunk(just barely) while the sub is playing, does it get a lot louder in the car? Mine did when facing rear. Aren't low freq. sound waves around 15 feet long or something like that?

I don't have the 15's in the car anymore. I did have them in an undersized box to tighten them up a little and they sounded great, pretty tight for 15's. They called for 5.0 cubic feet and I had them in 4.5. Had to get rid of them because the box itself weighed like 70 pounds.

I have a little 10 in there right now and it is positioned behind the center armrest facing forward. I had it turned rearward, but the sound dropped off considerably. I am going to remove it this summer and put in either two 12's or I have an Infinity Beta 12" bandpass box that I might use. It's kinda large and doesn't fit very well though. But I could port it into the interior through the rear deck.

Here is a pic of my 15's I used to have in there.
