So I was out once again farting around, trying to get my 89 sho to shift (bought it not shifting), and I found a nice big 4" rip in the casing of the backside of the trans. Think maybe that has something to do with it? naughty
Anyways. I have pdf of the clutch replacement stuff, very helpful for removal of the trans. But does anybody have any tips? It really doesnt seem all that hard. I just have to get the Y-pipe out (bolts are still stuck, soaking in pb blaster) and then remove that crazy frame thing there and then yeah.
Anyways just letting you guys know whats up. Looking for some trans removal tips...good stuff like that. Also, I found a trans for 250. I figure when I leave for spring break I can check around at the salvage yards and see what I can find.
p.s. As soon as I get the trans out, I'll post some pics of that massive gash. Its actually quite amusing, even more amusing is the fact that it would occasionally still let me shift.
p.p.s. In summary, any good tips for trans removal, suggestions for getting the bolts of the y-pipe out, and offers of selling me a trans (<$250) would be great. Thanks
