Well.... after finding out how much ford wanted for the led in my spoiler, and lack of lights at junkyards, i figured i'd fab my own one up. i simply measured the length of the housing case(12" or so) and then i proceeded to order a 12"(30L.E.D.) light strip for only about $30-40. The simple part. done.
Next was to get inside this lil monster(Difficult!). I tried baking it. Nothing. I tried baking @ 200 deg. Still nothing. lastly i just used a heat gun and got the side hot enough until the glue pretty much just detached from the lens, but i still ended breaking the side lip on the lens just about everywhere, but thats fine. Because this lip can only be seen if u were to be able to see under the spoiler (impossible). Once i got the original unit out, i removed the small piece of foam they had behind the led strip, and started cleaning the housing.
Now for the fun. I chose to use a two-part Epoxy for this. It is rated for 1500Psi or something, and its "crystal" clear.. so i think this may be ok. Anyways i just mixed it up and more or less just poured it in the housing until the whole led strip was submerged in it (minus lights sticking up). It turned out ok, but ... im sorry for the bad pictures. I only had my phone, and it was cold out, and police like to pull me over alot around here lately so i just pretty much rushed the whole thing. If i took my time, it would have Much better looking(but it works, right
