Just got back from the Dunes where we tried out The Other Woman with her new Eaton jewelry. All I can say is WOW! SHE WHEELIES!
All I had was WOT tuning available to me but man oh man, does that Yamaha take well to forced induction. I was only making 4 pounds of boost but the Yamaha sure knows what to do with it. Now I have big time lack of traction issue. Even took the paddles down to 6.5 psi and still couldn't hook up well.
At the sand drags on Saturday night she was like a rocket sled. And the noise, Oh my goodness, that whine was soooo sweet, almost need ear plugs though. Even the mufflers didn't help much.
If I did a rolling 2nd gear start down the drag strip so that I could get a nice easy landing off the jump, she would just roost a lot. But if I went from a standing start, whoa baby, you'd better hold on. I saw nothing but sky so I let off a little, hit second and saw more sky. It was great!
I got a couple of videos but the guy using my camera didn't get the wheelies. Didn't break anything all weekend either. The intercooler gave me a 30-33 degree drop in temps, so that was definitely a good idea.
On another note, Troy got his mid-engined SHO buggy tuned to run to 8700 rpm. Boy does that sound awesome coming out of his single exhaust. Bad news, he might have toasted his tranny.
I've got to do some re-plumbing of the blow-off valve and get some kind of an oil cooler back on her and then a smaller driven pulley on the Eaton. Can't wait to see what 8-10 pounds of positive displacement does to a Yamaha powered 1800 pound car.
Yippie!
This might be a good enough video.
