Recently my tensioner pulley siezed and ripped my serpentine belt off...I removed the pulley and went to my local auto store and they didn't have it. I searched every were after that no SHOs in the junkyard not one auto store stocked it and the worst, the dealer didn't have it either... I can't find the tensioner or just the pulley alone...does anyone know were I can get one? Does the 2.5 taurus use the same size pulley? Or does any other car? Please help...just so you know I have an 89 SHO

As far as I know, the only source for new ones is SHOSource. Your car actually has two accessory belt tensioner/idlers, one towards the rear of the car (for the P/S, W/P, crank), and one towards the front of the car (for the A/C, Alt., crank). Depending on which one you need, here are the bearings from SHOSource:

P/S, W/P, crank:

A/C, Alt., crank:

IIRC, they had these bearings specially made for this application, so they're not particularly cheap, and no one else has them.

You can pay an additional $45 to have them press the new bearing into a good used pulley, or just get the bearing itself and then you'll have to have it pressed into your pulley somewhere.

Your other alternatives are to either scour junkyards for an MTX SHO (any year will work), or post in the "Wanted To Buy" section here:

Good luck.
