my temp guage has not worked since I got the SHO. When the ignition is off it floats up but then drops all the way down when pu on ACC and when cranked. What is wrong? Is it a sensor? What parts do I need?

If you are facing the driver side wheel the sensor is located in the water outlet housing as seen in the following diagram. Check the connection on it as it is a push-on connector and could be loose.

The sensor is only used for the gauge on the dash as there is a seperate ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor for the EEC (computer).

Sorry for the jacking, could the ect have any effect to the eatc through computer on a second gen?I just put a temp sensor in my car today, havent had any temp reading in months due to the car sitting for 4-5yrs.I used a 18mm deep socket and did it without moving anything out of the way, "no air box cone filter".It was a great feeling to see it working.
