temp gauge dead

i was driving around today and noticed my temp guage doesn't move at all, any one know why it would just stop working, and how to fix it?

check the sender on the thermostat housing. the wire might have fallen off, or you might need a new sender.

i will do that, could you tell me where the thermostat is?? and what the sender unit looks like. thanks a bunch

follow the upper radiator hose... on the driver side of the car.... up under the intake hose and to the throttle body..... there you will see the hose clamp onto a metal housing... that will go like 5 inches further "back" to the engine block.... back there you should see some wires coming out of what looks like a bolt.... that's the sending unit.... to get to the thermostat, you must take off the metal housing "thermorstat housing" its called, 2 nuts take that off... word of warning... radiator fluid will flow

Yeah, may want to drain some coolant first ;)

I had this same problem and did the thermostat & TSU and now everything's fine. For me there was an issue of a hose clamp being in the way of removing the thermostat housing though. Was kinda a pain, but I don't remember it being an issue on the 90, so hopefully that's a fluke.
