I'll be there, my car is still hogging a spot in the garage. Rod Bearings this week, and then it's time to put it all back together.

I will be working on it most of this week. It needs to go, NOW. I had to teach a class to 5-7th graders last week and that killed me.

Address is:

12101 SW 72nd
Martell, NE 68404

if anyone wants to see how far out in the sticks I am.:nut:

To recap, there should be two stalls of concrete in the garage open, a dirt floor Moton building with rubber mats on it (may be big enough to jocky two cars into, I have yet to try.), and endless amounts of grass in the yard. The grass actually won't be too bad, we have very hard clay topsoil, and about 10 sheets of 1/2" 4x8 plywood to work on if need be.

I have a welder, generator, small air compressor, angle grinders, saws.....etc. I DO NOT have an engine hoist or stand. If we need to use a strut/spring compressor, the shop I work at has one, and it's about 15 minutes away. They are one on friday until 5, and saturday 8-12.

I'd make sure you have the parts you need, other wise it's at least 25 minutes to a GOOD parts store.

Well make sure and have a feast one od the nights I'm sure.

I think we'll be around all day saturday.

Anyone up for a road trip to the SORC????

Head out thursday night, get a hotel, and head to Arnold? It's about a 4-5 hour trip from Lincoln, and it starts at 8am. I for one don't want to wake up at 4am to drive for 4 hours....

I've got a project going on... Not sure if anyone would be interested, but I thought I would throw it out there. I plan on epoxy coating my garage floor soon and thought I'd invite anyone out. Nothing big and not even SHO related, but it'll help me keep the floor clean when the SHO pukes all over it :)

Joe did you look at that rod bearing? No way that can be an original one with 165k miles on it.

Jason when were you thinking of epoxying the floor?

I haven't picked a time yet, however, it needs to be done soon. I'm tired of parking on boxes and such to keep anything from making it hard for the epoxy to stick.

don't worry too much about getting anything on the floor, a degreaser and the etching solution will take it off.

you might get a hold of the builder and see if they used cure-and-seal on the floor. that, or check your self. dribble water on the floor, if it soaks in it has not had a sealer on it, and that's VERY good if it HAS NOT.

There is not sealer on it. They told us when I bought it that it was the owners responsibility. Per your PM, let me know what you come up with. I'm not looking for the most expensive stuff out there, but something that looks good and will last for many years.

Thanks!

So, who's coming to the meet, and who plans on going out to Arnold??

The plan is to go out thursday night and get a hotel in North Platte. We should probably get a reservation, if it's not already too late. It'd probly best best if we made a reservation by the middle of this week.

Let me know if you're going to the meet, and whos going to SORC.

I'm probably gonna go and bring one of my buddies up with me.

We are just a couple 18 year olds looking for something to do.. and this will be my first SHO meet too.

2nd weekend in August, i believe thats the 8th, 9th, and 10th!

You are correct sir!

And this doesn't necessarily have to extend into Sunday, but if if we need to, I'll be here.

Tentative Schedule

Thursday
head out to North Platte in the evening

Friday
1 Shootout starts at 8am.
2:30 Parade of Cars (in the race)
3:00-6:00 Car Show
4:00 Burnout Contest:naughty:

I don't know how late everyone will want to stay, but I'm guessing after Being at the SAC museum for like 3 hours, being around cars will be even better!

When we eventually get back to town, we can either start wrenching, or just hang out, which is probably going to sound very good after such a long a long day:nut: Sit around, BS, and you guys of age can have a few beers.

Saturday
Breakfst is on me, Breakfast burritos with local made pork sausage, farm eggs, etc...

Wrench until our knuckles bleed or our eyes are filled with sweat.

We can run to Denton and have lunch, and a nice 4-5 mile stretch of cop-free, and low traffic highway. Not the flattest, but enough to get a few runs in:evilgrin: The bar in town has AWSOME burgers, and pretty cheap too. KENO, smoking IS allowed, and a bunch of TVs.

....whatever....wrenching, running for parts.....racing.

Grill out for dinner, I've got deer brats, chedder brats, and I might grab a few steaks. If you want something special bring it out, there's room on the grill.

Either Friday or Saturday night we should go for a little cruise through Lincoln and see how much trouble we can muster up. Saturday is probably the best night to go out, more people, more cars, more competition....lots of ricer to put to shame.

Like I said, everyone is more than welcome for Sunday too

You've got 19 days and counting!!! Take time off, get the parts you want to put on, save up for gas!

For anyone that would rather stay at a hotel friday and/or saturday night, Crete is only 15 minutes away and has a Super 8.

:salute:
