In fact, P1744 is related to TCC. Personnaly, the first thing I will begin with an oil and filter trans change. If the prob still there, I will put a Lucas transmission fix into it. I always start with low cost solutions (in time and money). Many thru time have resolved some trans troubles with a simple oil change.

Someone with better experience in trans may help more here, but sometime is very quiet. You bought the car recently ? I also saw some SHO with some modified wiring on motor and when the car changes of owner, we cannot say really what it was for...

Humm... Trans is linked to many things. I also note that when she kick 3400 rpm and secondaries opens, SARC goes in firm mode.

Is your O/D light is flashing sometime ? Had you made some modif on fluid cooling system and hoses ?

I read that each shift have a some kind of sensor saying to trans when to shift. They are just behind the trans (side) cover. TC have a sensor there too which can fail by time.

I'm on my lunch time right now but I can put photos later.

Ok, you need someone with a better knowledge in transmission than me. I let you some images of trans without his side cover. Some parts fails with time there but I'm not sure is your case, sorry.

Trans cover removed

Also be careful to watch if you have suspect wiring that can be added over time (near ECM, fuse box or IMRC for exemple).

The trans plug on the top of the trans can fail too over time (just beside the trans range sensor).
1 connection vrifier top

1 broken top connector

It can be the TCC (torque converter slenoid), some poeple had trouble in past with that.

Good luck, and keep us informed, maybe someone here have the answer.
