TB or Accellerator???

my daughters '97 has come up with a new problem besides the SAI code now. she told me that it's like the gas pedal is sticking when you take off. i drove it one day, and it only happened to me when you first drive the car. you start to push on the gas pedal and it wont go down, so you have to kinda "stab" it... once it was warmed up, didnt seem to have the problem again. only after it sat and cooled off, and when you start again, same symptom.... i was thinking more along the lines the TB needs cleaning as the plate is prolly sticking from build up. any thoughts/experiences???:wave:

Same Issue

I have exactly the same year, and just yesterday the "FORD" developed the same problem. Fells to me like a dry cable. Lets see what we can find!

This is correct. I have to clean it almost every year now. Get some paper towels to catch the runoff.

thanks Luigi....that was what i thought i was feeling working the throttle from under the hood, but just wanted to hear input from others that may have encountered the same symtoms....thanks!

Here's a thread for you to read. As they have indicated be careful the plastic straw doesn't shoot into your intake. .................
